In years past they used to send you a test on the owners manual. If you failed the would come get the vehicle in the dark of night.

I downloaded the PDF owners manual to my iPhone. Works awesome and you can search key words etc.

Anyone experience this feature returning to normal 10 speed operation after limiting the gears? I've used this a bit driving around seeing how it operated and noticed it had returned to all 10 gears (locked out at 6th) after about 15 minutes. I didnt shut the vehicle off or anything and auto start stop was disabled.
Did you shift out of Drive at any point? Like when turning the truck around and had to reverse? I believe that leaving Drive at any point with the shift lever (which also turns of the individual gear display) cancels any lockouts.

I noticed in normal driving, I will almost always go from 1st to 3rd and miss 5th at times. Guessing if excellerating hard or towing, I would use them all.

I didn't take notice but now that I think of it that may be it. Thanks for the response, I will try it out and see if that was the issue.

UPDATE: Drove around awhile with the gears locked out at 6th. It appears it was me shifting out of D. Thanks again for the info, much appreciated.

Thanks. Another member said it may have been me switching out of D. Appreciate the response, thank you.
