10-spd event. Have it looked at?
Hi folks,
I have a 2018 supercrew 5.0L 10-spd truck with about 1000 km on it. Yesterday I punched it a bit to get ahead of someone so I could merge then the trans started slipping. The dash indicated it was in 4th but the truck would barely move like the trans was out of fluid. Yes there is fluid. After about 1 km of reving and barely moving the trans started to catch again. It seemed like the computer got confused or the torque converter was shot. Other than being slightly dangerous would you waste you time taking it to the dealer? It seems ok now.
Thanks in advance!

Get the TSB done on it.

I think you probably should make an appointment to have it looked at. At least in this way it has been identified in the event it should occur again. The amount of money we spend on these rigs warrants getting issues like this fixed. It may also lead to Ford initiating TSB’s if it is diagnosed as a systemic issue.
Just my thoughts.

If they can't reproduce it you will likely be blow off, but if you do take it in at least you have a paper trail to document the issue. Can't hurt to have them look at it if it's not going to put you in any kind of a bind.

My understanding there is a PCM update for these, or some:

If it was in fact Slipping, I would have them look at it and have them hook up the computer to it, see if there are any codes hanging around, they may flash your trans--who knows!
