Default '06 over my '15

Been running my '06 FX4 a lot lately making sure it is solid before giving it to my daughter. It runs better and is better built than my '15 by far. Even with 300,000 miles on it. It has better steering feel, better ride, better cornering, and a small thing is better interior lighting. Ten years in salt and snowplowing and still no rust. Time will tell if the '15 will have the longevity in it's DNA. Even though it is my daughter, it is still tough to give this one up. She wants to pull the waterski boat for her club at college. With a new bedrug in back it is better than any tent for camping. It has been tough to stay positive about the '15 when it keeps giving me little problems to solve. I think the '15's were rushed out a year or two too early before all of the field testing was completed by Ford.

the reason Ford can and did rush the 2015's is because they knew all to well that customers will buy anything new and shiny.

I hear you.

I have friends and family with previous-generation F150s, and their trucks seem to have been built with better quality control than mine. Only the financial hit keeps me from trading in my 2015. That, and not knowing where I'd go.

I trust Dodge's QC even less than Ford, and the Silverado is IMO the ugliest half-ton on the road. The Tundra is overpriced and underperforms. Ahh, first-world problems...

I had a 2006 before my 2015, and there are definitely some things I miss about the 06. I've decided that my view on the 2015 F150 is that Ford nailed the big things, but failed the little things. It drives great, is spacious, comfortable, powerful, good fuel mileage... but man, there are lots of little irritating issues that no brand new vehicle should have.

I used to think a lot of people on this forum were just being a little bit picky and whiny when I was still lurking and before I bought my 2015. I can sympathize with a lot of people now though, for sure.

Better built maybe, but thats it IMO. The powertrain is night and day, 04-08 had a terrible powertrain with noisy engines and low power. I think the only difference in quality is the interior and some of the features. The 04-08 had less to go wrong, but they still did. Window regulators were bad, the rear sensing system hated salt, fuel driving modules sucked, phazers, manifolds and then some. They all have their issues, and I would personally never go back, love my 2015, just wish like everyone else the small stuff was better executed. That being said mine seems perfect now, the doors work, headlight mod is great, cargo box too light is LED now and sync with MFT has been flawless. My seats heat great and so forth.

My 15 has had no issues. Every 04-08 here I see is falling apart.

Yeah, my '88 XLT was way better than this '15...... The 180 hp 5.0L got an amazing 14 mpg, the AOD was always in the right gear......any 4 of them! And I loved getting out and locking the hubs when I wanted 4x4! Man, I miss that truck!
