It's better than having to replace that entire bedside...much less invasive.
Yup. It's how body work has always been done.

Had my gf swing by since they just finished the body work. Said it's a little dusty but looked great. (Probably just haven't had a time to wash her.)

Disappointment. Several dirt nibs, a couple scratches in the new fender and I can still see a crease from where the dent was pulled on the bedside.

They immediately owned up to it and apologized.

Can't see too much because of all the reflections.

Can't make out the crease or the scratch really well.

Nibs I get. Even I miss a few here and there from time to time.

Yeah the crease is definitely there. I didn't shoot it well. The paint chip is small but there. They're going to repaint the fender.

The paint almost has a different feel from factory of that makes sense.

Well is should honestly. It will have a proper mil build that will be more even now. And will be baked and dried at a lower temp. This gives the clear time to do what it's supposed to. Factory paint is applied thinner, and flash baked at 450°f

Hmm thats interesting. Our doors have an almost wavy look. I feel like now it's almost more pronounced...but since it's the passenger side it's not something I've noticed as much before.

Sounds like you're saying that body shop oaint is better than factory?

I wonder if I'll ever be happy with how this turns out...

Depends on who sprays it though. Yes a painter worth his salt will apply the paint smoother, more even, and more edges covered

So am I overthinking how one side of the truck may appear different than the other or is it just in my head?
