Default trouble matching paint

Hi all,
I have an 2005 f150 screw. I am having trouble matching the gray/silver one the bottom part of my truck.
The paint codes say ext- E4 AQ / RC 11/ DSO. That's what it says for ext pnt.
E4 ok for the red, but AQ seems like closer to pin striping not bottom gray/silver.
Am I missing something?
Thanks, Bob

Hey Bob,
Does the paint have metallic In it? Might be the wrong color paint or you may be spraying it incorrectly.

No metallic that I can see. Simple spray can style paint. They guy at store said AQ was Arizona beige , well that matches pin stripping. Not bottom silver/gray. No major rust issues, just chipping. Want to take care of before turns to rust/rot.

When I search color code AQ is comes up as Arizona beige Metallic. Since. It’s metallic you’ll have to paint a wider area and blend it in. Metallic paint can change color depending on air pressure and distance from the panel. Try about 24-28 inches away as a final coat in a circular motion and see if that helps blend the paint. Your options would increase vastly with a paint gun because then you can adjust the air pressure to the tip and distance which would give you more options if that makes sense. What areas are you painting? A picture would be helpful too.

I am wanting to repaint the bottom 8-10" bottom part of the body. Silver/gray to match whats there. I do not know how to post a pic. I have them on my phone and see if I can figure it out from there. I have posted stuff from phone to face book market place, but never to a forum like this. Thanks again.

Aq is Arizona beige. Are you the original owner? Could someone have painted it prior to you? Post a pic of the truck. Been painting for 20 years. 6 for Ford

you can see a small spot of rust just before front of rear tire. Want to take care of this but want matching paint.

The pin stripping has metallic, and where I went said was only sold in ' pen ' style. So I figured pin stripping was the arizona biege.

I had that exact same color scheme on my 04 lariat. Which I did paint work on. So I can confirm you have AQ on the bottom for sure. Post a pic of the spray can if you can. Is it one of those paints that matches like 3 other paint codes?

Might be the pic. But the lower on the front door looks different than the rear door

I'll try to post a pic of the variant deck on AQ when I get to work tomorrow
