Post Your F150 Rust Spots
Please include the year of your pickup. I'd like to have a clear picture of where to look for rust before the bubblies start happening. A lot can be done to slow or even stop rust before it bubbles through the metal skin.
Such as:
1) Sandblast (sand, wirewheel, scrape etc)
2) Mig weld new metal or replace panels.
3) Waterproof body filler (All Metal etc)
4) Rust conversion (Rust Check, Metal Mort etc)
5) Prime with rust inhibitor primer.
6) Paint with spray bomb or traditional compressor painting.
7) Rust inhibitor oil spray every fall.
So this thread is to prevent us doing items 1 thru 6. Item 7 should only be done after inside of the panels have been cleaned & inspected. If only surface rust is present I've started from item 4.
Lets hear some comments & have a few pictures please.

1st 4 yrs i guess although they're in the direct line of fire from tires, it was originally from southern Ohhoho,
not sure if they used salt down there, these are the rear cab drivers corner and a small quarter size area on the pass floor, thats it on the cab itself....lucky me i guess.
Their was a large metal piece sandwiched between the rubber bushing and cab but there was no rust at all on cab crossmember, fronts were like new.
I have more in my album if interested although i have more to add soon.

The 04-14 will rust at the rear wheel arch if you do not stay on top of washing.
You nead to keep the top of the wheel well clean and sprayed out if you live in an area that uses salt. You can access this area by spraying up from under the rear bumper at each side.
Stick your head under there and look up.
Doors will start rusting at the bottom inner lip if not kept clean. Same with the talegate.
Front fenders get filled with dirt, leaves, etc if. It cleaned out.
Supercrew trucks (only) cab corner rust. Very common.
Rust around fuel door. Seems to affect 2004-2008 mostly.
All of the above affects 2004-2014 trucks.
