Default Hi new F-150 here - What is best way to fix this scratch?

Sorry I posted this in the Introduction section as well.

Hi I took delivery of a 2013 F-150 in Sterling Grey that is absolutely beautiful. However, there is paint missing on the door edge. About a 1" vertical scratch on door edge, in-line with the door handle. It appears to be down to the metal in the center of the scratch. The salesman sent touch up paint. Should I apply primer before painting? I'm fairly inexperienced. Thank you for any help. Here are some pictures:

Sorry if they are sideways.

edges of paint are likely very thin, and yes it appears that you have more of chipped paint than a scratch. You can touch that area up, with a thin layer of filler, then slight build of paint, allow to dry 24hrs then lightly sand to near smooth, and hand polish. Add a door edge guard, because its highly likely to happen again on door edges.

Cheers,
GREG
