Default New cap, color a wee bit off

Picked up a new cap made by jeraco, had one previously and liked it.

The paint is funny,, up close and from extreme angles it matches pretty good, from afar and from the sides it isn't even close.

Previous post says silver is hard to match, I assume that is what I'm dealing with? Got a couple pics that where taken yesterday after picking it up. Was light rain and overcast.

I would have that redone. Straight on it looks white. Almost like they didn't put enough color on it. That can sometimes be the case. What does it look like in the sun?

Case in point. New painter we had back in the day painted this fender. Notice how the color matches at the top, near the windshield post? But as you go further down it doesn't match anymore because there wasn't enough paint down there. Not saying that's what happened, but it could be.

Picked the cap up yesterday, and no sun so far today. Sent pics to local dealer and they are gonna call jeraco and see about respraying it. I really didn't think I was gonna get to much help from them locally, so lets see what happens.

From above looking out window, cap matches truck roof.

Sun just came out, I'll get a couple more pics.

Even to my admittedly not so great eyes, that looks quite a bit off.

That looks like a white cap on a silver truck.

Metallic silver is hard to match, probably the worst, pressure, volume, technique all come into play but if it's that far off in photos something is wrong.

Are they a spin off company fro. ARE? Not all, but many caps the color is off. They claim automotive grade paint but...I had to pay to repaint mine. Good luck!

I had a cap off a few shades back in the early 90's. Is the cap painted or gel-coated? Mine was gel-coated and was so bad, I made the cap dealer buy it back. Bought a LEER and it was painted and spot on (91 Ranger, silver paint).
