I have a 2012 Lariat that has silver paint on the dash. There is one small 2" x 2" spot that has damage to the paint near a small square open compartment. the paint is silver and the paint is cracking, but not chipping. I thought about using fine sandpaper to remove the cracking part and then respray, but am concerned it will just look like another kind of crappiness.

 

Or replace the part?
