Default door Emblem replacement on a 15

I have a 15 that is magnetic metallic and I found a black version of the little chrome ecoboost emblem on the door. I have some apprehension about doing it myself because I am afraid of screwing up the paint on a gorgeous truck.

Tips please?

EXACTLY. Just worried about screwing up the paint/finish on the door if I do it myself.

Well yes I am aware of taking it off but what is the proper procedure so as not to ruin the underlying surface? Also, is there required prep or special adhesive required for attaching the new ones?

I am engineer and I can build/fix most anything but I am in no way a paint guy so not ruining the paint is #1 on my priority list

Use fishing line, place it behind the emblem, pull! There may be a couple placement pins on the back of the emblem. Use the fishing string to release as much of the adhesive as you can then just pull on the emblem and it should pop right off. Clean it up with some goo gone or a similar adhesive remover. The new emblems should come with new 3m tape. If not you can buy it at walmart. Stick the tape to the emblem then trim it to fit the emblem, then stick the other side to the truck. Not to tough of a process once you do it.

Put the truck in the sun. You can use fishing line like many do, but they pop right off. No alignment pins on eco's. Clean off the old double side tape. Most of it will peel off. If you are applying brand new ones, they come with new tape applied to them

Where did you get these? These are better than the first set I found. The ones I found had a chrome ring around the outside. These are way better.
