Unhappy back axle rust

hello all,

I have a problem and i couldn't find anything where anyone else posted it.

I just bought my 2018 F-150 used with only 13,000. So keep in mind its still under manufacture and i have an extended.
I noticed that my back axle is completely rusted. No coating is left from the factory on the back axle. but with it being so new, there is no way that should be a normal thing even if the truck is from New York. Because of this rust has started.

I was wondering if anyone has had this happen and to see if they got it fixed by ford?
Trying to see if its even worth taking it to Ford and seeing if they will fix it or if i should just do it myself

absolutely nothing..again normal condition. look at any F150 on the road. The rear axle will have that surface rust on it.

well dang, well thanks for your answer. Looks like im going to have to just do it myself or find a cheap place to do it. The whole back axle is rusting, so it looks terrible and i don't want it to get worse

not as bad as you made it sound but, for only having 13K miles don’t look good. wire brush it and hit it with some loctite corrosion inhibitor ... let dry and then shot it with some rustolium.

Default Diesel Shop Repairs

New here. Opened a diesel repair garage in Brownfield TX a little over a year ago. Hardest part was finding a diesel mechanic to work on our trucks. The hardest part for me is finding the best place to order parts from? We are in a small town so there are not any parts to buy locally. Any suggestions. Much appreciated.
