Default Oil pressure and carbon buildup on rings

I’m new here. I’m working on an 05 5.4 in an F-150. The number one cylinder is fouling the plug. Here’s my question: since it’s the last one to get oil, could the rings be fouled with carbon from low oil pressure? If I replace the pump and add BG erp is there a possibility it will clean up? I have blowby, this cylinder is the problem, valve springs aren’t broken and rollers seem tight.

Cylinders don't really "get" oil. The crankshaft does receive oil through oil passages and oil is splashed around on the cylinder bores and many engines have oil squirters under the pistons. But the oil all comes from underneath the pistons and rings and isn't really affected by oil pressure.

There are two types of rings. Compression rings, which is where you would get blowby from. And oil scraper rings, which is where you would get oil fouling of the combustion chamber. You can also get oil fouling through bad valve seals.

You can't really tell where blowby comes from unless you measure cylinder pressures. The low pressure cylinders would have the most blowby. Are you seeing low cylinder pressure or oil fouling of the combustion chamber? Dirty spark plug is the typical sign.

i’m wondering the mileage on this motor ? It may need more than and oil pump.

Thanks for the replies. 150000 miles on engine no.1 plug is fouled with wet oil and fuel mix. Plugs have less than 50 miles on them. OBD codes were indicating problem in no.1. That plug was destroyed. Both electrodes disintegrated. I bought this truck for a song knowing it had a problem. Former owner said it needed head gasket. But, it doesn’t give classic symptoms. No white smoke, no bubbles in radiator. My borescope isn’t good enough to reveal the problem, but it seems to be lacking compression. Engine was quiet and idled well. Had bad vacuum leak from large hose coming from master cylinder. Would that burn a valve so far away? At any rate, head is coming off. Will decide what to do then. Keeping truck. ‘69 F150, ‘85 F150, ‘03 F150, ‘10 F150, ‘16 F250, ‘17F250, now ‘05 F150..this one for fun
