Would you buy a diesel F150?
#11
Not as high as buying another truck after 200k I mean my trucks have 206k on a f350 v10 and 254k on a 4.6 f150 and the f150 is plumb wore out 1owner truck and the f350 is still in decent shape I guess that's built ford tough huh?

Most certainly would buy a diesel F150

Yes I would buy one if the price wasn't too high.
Flame me all you want but I would buy a hybrid F150 over any engine. I don't tow or haul anything a hybrid couldn't handle. I came close to buying a silverado hybrid but the interiors make me vomit. So I went with a supercab 3.7 instead.

I waited for years for Ford to bring a small displacement diesel to market. It was almost here in 2010, and I would most likely have one right now. I wanted that new 4.4L V8, which would have been a great engine for the F150, but I do like my new Ecoboost. I still think the diesel would get better mpg overall, but would be offset by the EPA imposed price of diesel and urea.
The Federal EPA is a market killer.
To each there own, but hybrids will never be cost effective and are way worse for the environment in both the short term and long term if that's why someone would be interested. Nasty waste is required in manufacturing. You never will be saving money, because by the time you break even, you have to spend $$$$ on new batteries. Nasty waste is a problem when disposing of those batteries.

It would all depend on the chassis, and if the small diesel would be an improvement or an inconvenience. If you do a lot of 5-8K lbs of towing it would make it easier if it were an inline diesel, but Ford isn't known for their small reliable diesels.
MPG would improve, as would torque, but you sacrifice a warm motor on bitter cold days if you idle.
my 2c
