agreed

the major diffrences between the 99-04 and the 04+ 2v motors are the mechanical fan in the f150, the fly-by-wire, and im sure a few other things...

the only differences are where they are built. Romeo gets a 6 bolt crank and press fit wrist pins, windsor gets an 8 bolt and full floaters.....thats really it. They get vehicle spec oil pans and exhaust manifolds, trucks and cars get their own intake manifold.

only other real difference is the coolant sensors, the trucks use cylinder head temp for the EEC for the "Fail Safe" cooling, while the cars use coolant temp. The CHT sensor is a dry hole sampling on the driver side head. In order for my EEC to properly read that function in my car, my tuner just had to check that selection in his software.

I'm not a dick and won't harass you, probably the easiest way to tell on the 04-08's is the intakes are run a bit differently, the 4.6 tube runs from the side and does a 90 degree turn into the the throttle body opening which is facing the front of the truck, while the 5.4 does the same but the tube turns downward at the end to enter the throttle body that is facing upward.

Is that something that can be re-wired or could you swap a car harness/computer in and get around the tune? Thinking about a top end kit and I didn't know about the cooling sensor till I found this...

Thanks, steve

The have different intake and exhaust manifold differ slightly. Also injector timing and apart timing may differ. My mustang had a Romeo 6 bolt. ( junk) now has an 8 bolt crank Windsor . Both engines can end up in any vehichle
