Transmission Stuck In Limp Mode

Last night I took old beauty out on the beach and bottomed out on the sand. Wasn't going fast. Just got stuck. That little pipe that comes off the transmission facing the ground was buried in the sand. I got pulled out, started driving down the road and she drove good. Then I noticed a friend was stuck on the side of the road with a broken serpentine belt. Started towing him home and about 10 miles down the road it went into limp mode. I'm stuck in third. Transmission malfunction is displayed on the dash and the O/D light is flashing. And suggestions. 2007 F150 5.4 automatic. Fluids changed regularly, just recently too. I noticed months before it was slipping a little in second or third gear.
