Question Synthedic Oil

I got my Oil changed the other day and decided to get the most expensive oil...hah..It was the full synthedic oil and the guy told me that i could go 10k maybe even 20K before changing the oil again. First of all is this true? should i really go that long? I would never go over 10k because it would bother me and i would want to change it either way... but is full synthedic worth it? Is it better for the engine? Or should i pay the 29.99 and get the cheapest..no longer than 3K oil??

where do you go that charges 30 bucks for an oil change? do you get anything else with that or is that just the oil change. that seems really high.

The cheapest was 29.99 because they do oil and other fluids like wind shield wipers, also brakes, and rotate tires. Normally i pay like 20 for a regular oil change (with cheap oil)

I do not make a penny more or less if someone on this board goes 5000 miles or 500000000000000 miles on a synthetic oil change. I recommend 5000 mile oil changes with synthetic. Why risk your second most expensive investment on something as cheap as an oil change?

Default Oil change

I agree with NGM.I have synth oil&DONT go more than 5K on the oil change.Oil goes thru alot trying to keep your engine running smooth&almost friction free.Just makes good sense to do the oil change&protect your investment, unless you hit the lottery&buy a truck every year! All the best...Pete

-Ok you guys are talkin about when you should change your oil. Fine, but is it really worth the expense converting to the full synthetics???

-Also, ive heard it is not recomended to go from synthetics back to the old weighted oil! Can Anyone confirm???

Not sure about going from synthetics to old weighted oil, but i notice more performance from syn in my truck, dirtbike, and motorcycle. Most of my friends never ran syn in there bikes but now they all do. IMO syn is the only way to go
