i thought the 5.4 intake would not work on the 4.6 because the blocks are taller for the longer stroke so the 5.4 intake would have to be wider? correct me if im wrong because i know i can get a stock lightning intake/supercharger cheap but i didnt think it would work on my 4.6.

Hey everyone, where would I begin to search if I wanted a swap to the supercharged 5.4, just out of curiousity? How much would another engine cost?

not sure on the cost of the engine. a used one would prob run 1,500-2,000 i would guess i have no idea thoe.

as for the swap youd need the lightning computer and wireing harnesses but other than that its pretty much a direct bolt in. lots of guys on the other F150 site im on do it.

yes the 5.4 block is taller giving it the extra cubic inchs 4.6=281CI 5.4=330CI same bore longer stroke on the 5.4 every thing i have read says 5.4 heads and intake and everything will bolt right to a 4.6 block you will just have the smaller stroke still.

While the heads on both the 4.6 and 5.4 are the same the intakes are not. The 5.4 block is taller resulting in a wider valley between the cylinder banks. The 5.4 intake will not bolt onto a 4.6 engine. If you use Pi heads on a non Pi engine you will increase the compression ratio to just over 10:1 depending on the engine. Just so you know the Lightning engines use about 8.5:1 CR. The 4.6 is about 9.3:1 and the 5.4 is about 9.1. If you put a blower on a 10:1 CR engine you had better have a very good tune. As far as I know Procharger still makes a blower for the 4.6/5.4. A centi is by far the easiest and cheapest route to go.

When you add a supercharger or turbo, and you power level goes way up, you are going to need to upgrade you fuel system. Higher flowing injectors, higher flowing fuel pump etc. You can not just go out, buy a turbo, and stick it on.
