look at the air filter lid...is there a sensor screwed to it or does a hose just go to the throttle body...?

There's a sensor mounted, it reads "Air flow" and has an arrow pointing toward the throttle body

why is it so stupid? a member told me when he went to 33's, his 3.55s got him 12 mpg. 4.10's got him +2 mpg and restored some lost torque and HP

I've been thinkin about 4.56's

As I rarely go over 40-50

The fastest speed limit in town is 35 and I never go on the highway so I think the 4.56s would be better than 4.10s

the bigger the tire you SHOULD regear...it keeps the engine RPM within range...

you add tire size without gearing for them and you lug the engine...and you lose MPG...not hard to understand at all..

as for James...

what I would do..

do a real good tune up and open up the exhaust...if you can add full tube headers..then 2.25 duals with good mufflers...bigger will hurt you and 2-1/4 is a good round number...

that will get you in the general range and about blow your budget...

engine wise this would be my next step...

find a donor engine and rebuild that while you drive your truck...get the Eagle 347 stroker kit and build that...get the Trick Flow heads and add them to the bunch...you can either go with a stock roller cam or 1 or 2 bumps up...

depending on how you build the engine you may need to increase injector size...

if you build it right you wont really need to unless you got a heavy foot..if you need to increase injectors too many sizes up you may also need to get a bigger MAF to compensate...the engine alone will set you back 3Gs...

As for the complete tune up I've already gone ahead and done that, I've also eliminated my cat and have two 2 1/2 inch pipes running from my stock headers.

What brand headers would be good too look at ?

Also, I've found 347 stroker kits at about 750$$.

Will these suffice ? Or should I fork over the extra dough for the eagle (as used ones are 1000$$) ?

Roller cams seem to jump from 50 bucks to 300 bucks so i'm a bit lost there..

And after all of this, what increase do you feel I would achieve ?

Thanks, James.
