Default Starter replacement

Hey has anyone ever replaced the starter on their F150? I was just wondering how old the truck was and it's mileage when it was replaced. I'm keeping my 2009 F150
for 4 more years and it still has the original starter but I am thinking of replacing it if I hear of problems. It's one of the things that can strand you and require towing to the shop for repair.

Starters are usually very reliable.

My 87 still has the original starter. In fact, I only have replaced one starter in my driving career back in 1980. I wouldn't replace a working starter. There's no garrauntee the new one will be trouble free.

did you have a hard time taking it off or putting it back on? We're trying to replace ourselves and having a difficult time getting it back on right. Is there any tips or tricks to it?

Default Having trouble replacing starter on 05 f150

So our starter went out, we had trouble getting thr third mounting stud/bolt off and now we're having trouble getting it back on correctly, is there any tips or tricks to it? I made sure to check the new part with the old one to make sure everything was thr same so why are we having so much trouble getting it back on?
