Default E-85 4.6l?

Is there any talk out there about making an E-85 capable 4.6L V-8? I'd like the E-85 capability, but don't need the 5.4 or like its reduced mileage.

Thanks!

E85 sucks azz. Less mileage and power.

Less milage I agree with, but less power? I dont think so. With an octain rating of 105 I dont see how you would have anything but an increase in power. I use E85 quite often and your loss in mileage is around 30% which makes it more expensive to use. I use it only to ease our dependency of forign oil.

The octane rating has nothing to do with power. It's the ability of the fuel to resist self-ignition. A higher number does not mean more power.

I have an 2008 5.4 FFV and I run E-85 all the time. Personally I think my truck runs better and even seems a bit more spicy, yes there is a decrease in fuel mileage but I like paying $2.20 a gallon rather then $2.80. There was a article in the local newspaper sometime ago comparing E-85 to pump gas. They stated that in comparing the two that they equal out over time. The savings makes up for the lack of mileage.

dont use E 85 its bad... im not talkin bout harming motors but for everything else... i been doin alot of research on it and done several reports over it... im currently doing a semester long project over it. i think it is one of the dumbest ideas ever. yea maybe it's cheaper now... but it would make a really horrible alternative fuel to petroleum products... just my 2 cents

Well don't tell Brazil that but until something else comes around, I am going to keep using and reducing my use of foreign oil by theoretically up to 85% and paying only $2.20 a gallon while I'm at it.

You'll be paying a lot more than that down the road.
