Default Resonating Vibration

I have one of those annoying resonance type vibrations that I am having hell finding.

My truck has 180,000 miles on it, and I just replaced my u-joints thinking that would fix my problem, alas, I was wrong.

Recently, it has developed an odd resonating vibration that starts around 40 mph. Revving the engine, changing gears, throwing into neutral, and tapping the brakes have not made any changes. This vibration is akin to sitting at a stoplight next to a compact car with 4 18" subwoofers belting out a solid, unvarying deep pitched bass note. The truck does not actually shake (hope that makes sense)

After countless hours of fruitless searching underneath for anything that could be causing it, I am at a total loss... The only areas that I can see any type of seepage is on and around the front gearbox. But again, I am not knowledgeable enough to diagnose on my own.

Does this sound familiar to anyone, and what was the cause of your particular issue?

Sounds like a driveshaft thing. I'm having the same issue since I had u-joints changed (3 times, actually). I'm wondering if I ddin't end up bending the driveshaft a little.

Mine starts vibrating just under 50mph, with 3.55:1 gears.

After changing the u-joints, it ran perfectly for a few weeks until I got a secondary rig. The truck sat for a couple of weeks until I decided to take it to work yesterday. It drove great that morning, then went to crap after I filled the tank. The timing of it going bad would lead one to believe it had something to do with the fuel system, but the engine runs perfectly. Also, the vibration should change when the engine revs or transmission shifted into neutral, but it does not. That takes me back to some part of the constantly turning drivetrain. It only varies when the coasting speed of the truck changes.

Yeah, I posted the other one, then couldn't find it... Found it only after starting a new one.

Anyway, I suppose it could be the torque converter, but I just replaced it roughly 40,000 miles ago from a previous issue. The tranny was opened up to investigate during the same repairs, and the guy told me it looked "brand new" inside.

Plus, I wouldn't think that the torque converter would be the issue if the vibration doesn't change when I throw it in neutral. That being said, I am no expert, so anything is possible

Shoot, maybe all the grease dropped to one side of your U-joints or something silly like that.
