Performance Mods

I have a 1999 ford f -150 4.6L 2v with underdrive pully kit, gatorbelt, throttle body spacer, 9mm ford racing wires cold air intake true duel exhaust into x-pipe, straight back with magnaflow ovals. Soon to have the ECU re programmed for these mods, but before i do i was wondering if anyone knows of any other mods i can get done before reprograming the ECU. Or just let me know what you guys prefer.

I would do mass air and throttle body as well. And you should just about cover the bolt-ons before the computer.

So by mass air, do you mean aftermarket mass air flow sensor and throttle body itself?

where can you find the underdrive pulley kits at? and what exactly do they do? Thanks

Summit.com, and what they do is make your water pump pulley and alternator pulley bigger for less rotations, thereby making your crankcase pulley smaller for faster rotations, using the power it used recently on your water pump and alternator and puts it to your wheels allowing your engine to produce more power at the wheels.

by the way, if you are getting a pulley kit, get a 180 thermostat so there is pretty much no difference in changing the pulleys.

i would get a lightning mass air sensor and 75 mm throttle body.

Both are worthless to me because my truck is not supercharged. I will never take in that much air at one time where my ecu or tb could not handle as factory.

A mass air and throttle body upgrade is not just for superchaged applications they are just insurance that you will not go into open loop at wot and create a lean condition. Also the mass air is a must have if you have any plans on upgrading the cams on your 4.6. What is your ultimate goal with the truck???

I have a 5.4 L and trans with 60k out of a rolled truck that i am going to drop in, with pulley kit , spacer, cold air, probably taylor 10.4 mm wires ignition kit and my ecu will be reburned to 75% torque management, top speed limiter is getting cut out, and firmer shifts will be re adjusted. Cams lifters and springs. All together the goal is a hoping 350-360 hp which i know i can do without a supercharger. Something to take out the dodge 5.7 hemi, i know a guy that talks his pos up on my ford all the time, look at my pictures once. Tell me how many miles you think are on that truck.
Original engine and trans! 304,501 miles!

EXCEPT, its running on synthetic construction oil that is very rare, but the engine does not knock, the trans does not slip. BUILT FORD TOUGH!
