no compression #3
I have a 1997 f150 4.6 It has been misfiring for a while now but it has gradually gotten worse. I replaced all plugs coil packs and wires. I ran a compression test and it was 0 gap was closed and oil all over the end of plug any ideas?
Goodmorning;
Oil all over the sparkplug?
It could mean e hole burned in your piston mostly due wrong plugs. But are you sure that it is oil? Misfiring gives also black oily plugs. Misfiring and no compression could mean a heavy leaking exhaustvalve.
I do have some leaking inletvalves. The cause is, I do have a EGRvalve and I blocked it off. An EGR is the cause for a lot of sooth on your valves. When particles come loose and it is hammered on your valveseat, then you have serious troubles.
When you might lift your cil.head, put a peace of steel sheet between the EGR and manifold an clean your cil.head..... It will stay clean. EGR is an "All Gore environmental toy", a useless thing.
"Global warming?" We have seen more snow last winter and right now there is 8inch of snow here in Holland than the last 15 years

Hello Good Old Bill
One of the biggest hoaxes here is the Global Warming
To us Dutchies, Al Gore is the biggest liar in the world... Our own "environmental senator" did had a big fist "somewhere deep in Al
.
I hop Al reads this;
I do have a woodburner in the house, The smogpump, the charcoal cannister and all the useless hoses are removed from my ford
Like I said; the EGR has no duty today (and will not for the rest of the cars life). Here in Holland they do have a name for a truck; "a gascomsumer, an environmentwaster and at last; an Antisocialcar. In Amsterdam it's not allowed to drive or place a truck in the city; the police will fine you for that
. And the globe is getting warmer?
Do we have 8 inches of "hot snow" out there? Is the ice in the canal in front of the house hot?
O sh.t..
I was forgotten... there was some oil on somebodies sparkplugs Ayyyyyyyyy
scrap the car; not goed for the environ.... Ihate that word
greetings from Amsterdam

Goodmorning
Often holes burn in pistons due to a wrong sparkplug; mostly to hot value.
That's ****ty that you have to replace one piston; If you remove the oilsump, you can disconnect the conrod and push the whole thing up.
You must be aware that the cilinder is a fraction narrower at the top. If it's a standard piston, I would suggest to open an engine at the scrap yard and use your own pistonrings. It's not to be a cheapo ( we Dutch are famous for short arms ;deep pockets) but then one has same worn pistons in one engine.
