well about once a week now it doesn't start at random, idles like a diesel except when cold start then idles at about 1500-2000 for long time. So I finally took it to the dealer. they hook it up to scanner well I could tell you there were no codes. listen to it idle they think sounds ok "don't even open hood" they say think everything is normal we won't know whats wrong unless it throws a code...what the

I remember when a good mechanic could listen to an engine and tell you what was wrong, but they had almost no choice but to learn to "hear" the engine. Today they are taught how to read the computer. However there are still a few of those old time mechanics and some younger ones who have learned to use the new methods as well as remember the old. Making them almost unstoppable when it comes to engine diagnosis...the key is finding one.

get anything you goto the dealer in writing so you are covered if the problem persist or if this happens out side of the warentee they can be sued for fraud.
