Everything I'm reading indicates EGR problems would be associated with DTC. I will take a look at it though and see if I can clean the sensor.

In case anyone digs this up in the future it turns out the truck needs a whole new motor. Oil pressure at the head is 10 psi less than the bottom end and there is a lot of metallic in the oil.

Should be covered under the Ford ESP I bought for it.

Mine did that and it was a sticking valve and a cracked head. Had 185k on it so I just replaced the motor. Hope its not that!

Like I said it is covered under the Ford extended warranty I bought so it will only cost me $100 deductible. Not bad for a new motor!

I bought a set of those Accel coils. 3 out of 8 went bad in no time. Put the stock ones back and problems went away.
