I believe they fine tuned the PCM some and of course added a 6 speed tranny.

Yep, the 6 speed is a great idea. I don't know how old you are, but when I learned to drive, most of the automatics were 3 speeds with no overdrive. Going to a 4 speed and then 4 speed with overdrive really helped fuel mileage. But if memory serves me correctly, some of the early overdrive automatics weren't exactly reliable. I just hope Ford gets the 6 speed right out of the box.

I think the 6.2s have been put on the shelf for the time being. With Ford stock only being worth $1.50 right now dont look for too much new development for the time being. If the Feds dont help out the US auto industry, we may all be driving something else in the near future. The industry is in the worst shape its been in since the 1950s.

I learned to drive a 77 F-100 3 in the tree when I was a kid out on dirt roads.

My Grandpa had an older F series that was a 3 speed auto 73' I think???

LOL I remember first driving the 3 speed autos. They were great in their time. But then again, the older motors were not putting out the same horse as the newer ones. I used to think the 383s were powerful motors until i really looked at the horse they put out.
