Does it go away when you switch to 4H? If so, let's start at the cheapest things to try first.
1. Check for any leaks in the lines going from the solenoid, to check valve and then down to the actuators. Be sure to really look at the connectors where it changes from the plastic lines to the rubber hoses that go down to the hubs. Fix anything you find. If nothing, continue on.
2. Remove the check valve. See if you can blow through one way and not the other. If both ways, replace it. Should note that these tend to work on and off when going bad.
3. Solenoid. This may take 2 people. With ignition on but, with the engine off, see if you can hear it click when the person in the truck switches back and forth from 2wd and 4wd. @johnday will be able to provide more suggestions on testing the solenoid.
4. Then i could be an IWE, front diff or something else.
