im not an exspert but, a rebuild would be better. if u get a rebuild u could get some performance parts. cams, rockers, bor out the pistons and get bigger ones. any one of these will increase HP alot. i had my old hot rods 318 rebuild and it was in real bad shape. it cost around 2grand but i dident get any performance parts. also buying a bigger engine cost alot if its in grate condishon so better off goin whith a rebuild

You wanna have some real fun? Go get a 351w block around same yr. Stroke it out to a 408 inch, throw on some decent heads (like world products or a set of used aluminum heads and clean them up) and a use a decent cam thats not too noticable that has a good flat torque curve (like a 268 duration comp cam or equiv). You will have 370-400hp and well over 400 lb. ft of torque. It will be a torque monster beacuse of the long stroke (torque is best for a heavy truck) And keep the compression under 9.0 to 1 to be able to use 87 octane.

how hard is it to drop a 351w into a 94 that had a 302 anyways?
