Ive got a 1999 f150 4x4 with a 5.4 that blew up back in November of 2014 and had it towed back to my house where it sat until a few weeks ago. I got a new engine for it and needed to get it to the shop to have it installed. So we hooked up a battery and tried to start it and it actually started after a few minutes of cranking. It sounded terrible but it was running, I out it in gear and it wouldnt go anywhere, then tried 1st and wouldnt go anywhere, then tried reverse and wouldnt go anywhere. I had my buddy shove on the back while it gave it gas and it started moving and we drove it about a mile to where it needed to go. What do you guys think the problem was? The transmission was fine when it was parked.
