Default Exhaust Manifold Question

I,m replacing both of the exhaust manifolds on a 1997 F-150 4.2L V-6. My question is, When I replace the manifolds, is there a sequence for tightening down the manifold bolts to the block, and there torques. Also is there a torque on the on the exhaust end of the manifold to the down pipes.

Thanks Guys, Stokes

There is typically a tightening sequence with recommended torque values. Sometimes there is an initial torque setting to get the bolts to by following the recommended sequence, then a final torque setting - so essentially you'd be torquing everything down twice.

Do not have the specific data for your vehicle - if you're the do-it-yourself type, highly recommend picking up a shop manual - Chilton's, Haynes, Ford - all should have the recommended procedures.
