Default Strange noise when accelerating

I'm going to do my best to describe this problem.

When I hit the accelerator I sometimes get a noise almost like something is scraping. Like a brake pad stuck or something to that sound affect.

When I let off the accelerator it goes away. It's not consistent, almost seems random to me.

When driving to my destination last night it seemed to happen at 2250RPM on a some what regular basis and on the way back from the destination it was at 1500RPM when I was getting the noise.

The noise is more prominent on the passenger side.

I just picked up this truck and have a 30 day warranty. I've got an appointment on Tuesday to have it looked at. But if someone knows what it might be based off of the horrible description and it's simple to fix I'll take a crack at it.

I know I'm not giving you guys much to work with here but it's all I got at this point.

Thanks.

4x4? Notice when turning any? Reason I ask is the CV joint for 4x4 may be shot.

I have a 2007 fx4 screw and I have experienced the same noise and talked to a mechanic at ford and he mentioned it being something along the lines of the actuator for the 4wd ?

Default Strange noise when accelerating

As stated by previous posters, don't underestimate the vacuum system to the IWE (Integrated Wheel Ends). I have a 2007 F-150 Supercrew and started hearing the same sound about a month ago. After reading several posts on different threads regarding this problem, I checked my vacuum hoses leading to the IWE Actuator(sp) and found that the lines leading into the driver's side front wheel had been knocked loose. I reconnected them and it alleviated the problem. I know there are several points along this system that could be compromising the required vacuum but it is worth checking into. If you want more info on what can be checked, let me know. Good luck!

My 2004 just started making same sound but only in the 2h. Flip over to 4x4 and goes away.
