Cranks over but won't start
I went out this morning to leave for work but it barely turned over. assuming battery was low I figured I'd jump start it when I got home. So tonight I hooked up jumper cables to the wife's car. After giving it some time to charge up I tried it. It cranked over without hesitation but did not fire up. I found a wire from positive terminal on battery that appears to go to the alternator [I didn't remove air intake to verify since it is now dark] was broken. I spliced it back together hoping that was the problem. No luck, still not firing. Any suggestions on what to look at next? I last drove the truck on Saturday so I'm surprised at this because it has been running flawlessly. Thank you for the advice. Truck is a 2007 F150 FX4, 5.4 Crew Cab 185k on odometer

Sounds like one of two things: no spark or no gas meaning it is either the ignition system (ignition control module, Ignition fuse) or gas (clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump)
Anytime my 1984 or 1988 camaro wouldnt run, I started with these basics and went from there, and on more than one occasion found that it was the ICM 10a fuse that had burnt out. Quick fix.
