Changing out old 4.9 for newer4.9
I have a 1987 F-150 longbed single cab 4x4 with an automatic tranny...i was curious....how hard would it be to swap engines with an '88 F-150 with the same motor...the people i got the truck from tried to make it carburated but it didnt worl so they sold it to me for 300 bucks...and the wiring is all the same from what i can see but ididn know if anyone has done this before and could help me out along the way id really appreciate it...oh and by the way im only 16 and doin this by myself so id really like to know the easy way Thanks -Ken

ok thanks NGM...does anyone know if the computers would be the same?...i see the wires are still there and look the same but i dont know whether they are the same or not and would i have to take the computer out of the original truck so it would match the engine or would it matter?

Gettin ready to pull the motor today..does anyone need a 300 intake and carb? Im selling that and a list of othert hings off of it to pay for a new lift..but its the carb and intake....low pressure fuel pump, block thst still good, valve cover, exhaust manifold, Brand New 4Core radiator for '87 trucks with the straight 6...but im not sure if it will work with the 302 or not.
