97 4.2 swap 07 5.4
What I would like to know is will the 2007 5.4 run without a computer hookup? I have the computer from the 2007 and the wiring harness from the engine compartment. The computer hooup and existing wiring will not interchange from what I have seen. I have talked to Painless about wiring harness but they have nothing for it to adapt a v-8 harness from a v-6 harness. They sent me to Details Inc. and they have something for a nostalgic hotrod conversion that you have to figure out for $800.00. I just want to get the truck running with the 2007 5.4 and fix the emissions at a later date. So is it possible to run the 5.4 without all the added emission equipment and what has to be hooked up for it to run? Appreciate all responses as this has been a long time of trials & error.

the motor needs the brain to function properly, it has VVT.
the 3v mustang motor was swapped into a '96 Tbird, but EVERY processor related part HAD to be used, including the gauge cluster.
