Spark Plugs
I just had my plugs changed yesterday. 7 ok and one stuck.
I'm kinda lucky as my wife is the service advisor and what they have done (don't know if it'll work or not yet) is put anti seize on the 7 that were ok and also into the area of the stuck one. The wife is going to bring me back in in a couple of weeks to give it another try. Hope next time we have better luck.

I have an 03 5.4l with 130,000 miles on it. At 120,000 i changed the spark plugs for the first time. Although it was a pain in the ***, none of them got stuck or broke off.

I have 55k on my '05 5.4 F150 & was surfing here to see what plugs peeps use since I was thinking on changing them soon. Ouch...didn't even know there was a problem or they weren't a normal type plug. Thinking I might take down the street to the dealer & make it his headache.

I have 59k, same year same motor and called my local ford and they want $480 to change them. I'm leaning toward doing it myself to save money.

5.4 Triton Plug R&R? Advice Needed!
Hi all-
Newby here with a F-150 2006 Supercrew with 50K miles that has the (dreaded?) 5.4 Triton motor. The dealership I bought it from put up signs in the service shop (a few months AFTER I bought it!) warning that anyone with this motor from 2004-2006 should talk to the service manager.
I was told that the so called "100K plugs" might get seized permanently (or broken) in the heads if I waited that long, and should replace them at 60K. They want $170 to do the job.
Reading this forum now has me scared to death that they will end up breaking some of my plugs, and charging ME for their actions.
Doing further research, I found out that even though there is no recall on this issue, Ford DID put out a Service Bulletin (TSB 08-7-6) that tells them EXACTLY how to remove them with a chance of no breakage.
My wife wants us to drive from Texas to Maine and back this summer, and I'm wondering if I should risk having this procedure done NOW, rather than waiting.
If I gave the service manager the TSB, and got a verbal promise that his technicians would follow the procedure EXACTLY, would I still be liable if any of the plugs broke?
Finally.......what do y'all think? Replace the plugs NOW, or wait?
