3v 4.6 heads
Gents,
I'm new to the modular engine and ford high performance scene. I've got a 2005 Supercrew 4.6 2v engine, 38K miles. Just installed a volant intake and a Gibson side swept. Good power increase with no droning in the cab which is just what i wanted.
I just got through looking at the 09's with the 4.6 3v heads (assuming from the mustangs?) and wanted to know if this head will bolt on to my block? i'm boggled by the diff engines ford makes and how things are not just a simple swap even though it may be the same block. can someone clue me to a thread that explains all this? i read "PI" and havened figured that one out yet either. on top of this, do ECM's have to be swapped too or can a programmer fix the 3v conversion if it creates a computer compatibility problem?
That brings me to my next question, what shoud the next mod be, and why? Bang for buck. Thanks for any help in advance...
