It's especially noticeable with the windows down but I have a loud ticking sound from my truck under any acceleration. Almost sounds like an exhaust leak but not really. I hear some other trucks make the sound but mine seems louder than it should.

I just had a similar issue fixed with my 2010 5.4. Loud ticking, loudest at cold startup or under load like when towing. Could hear clearly through the passenger side front wheel well. Turned out it was a cracked exhaust manifold, dealership replaced the manifold, bolts, studs, gasket under warranty.
