Default 2006 5.4 Lariat gas smell in the cab

What's going on guys. Moved from an 03 fx4 4.6 to an 06 5.4. Changed the plugs about 1500 miles ago. Truck has 81k on it. For about two weeks I've been noticing a gas smell inside the cab at start up or coming to stops. I've had the dealer run the vin and it isn't under the injector warranty. Mechanic I usually deal with told me to check the plugs to make sure they were all tight. He said they have been know to loosen up. I did, all were tight. Truck is running great.. He said that if it was an injector it would be running terrible and loosing power.. Which it isn't. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, AJ

My guess would be a loose plug too. What did you torque them to when you changed them?

I didn't.. Just did it by feel. I saw your write up on changing plugs. Heading on there now to torque them to 25 inlbs. Thanks for the info. Hopefully this helps it.

That should be 25 foot pounds, I had a typo in my write up. If those are good I would suspect the injectors too but its hard to say since its running good. Any noticable drop in mileage?

Cool thanks.. Yea I have but I chalked that up to winter grade gas around where I live. 13.4 last check. Truck says 14.0. I was getting 15.5 before cold weather hit.

Well they are all torqued down to spec. Started it up, smelled it but that was it. Drove it around bout 10miles, turned it on and off and didn't smell it anymore. We will see how it is on my way to work later. I did get some movement on the plugs before it clicked. Hopefully that's what it was. Thanks again for the help.
