Default 2003 5.4

82000 miles.
The first time up on the temp gauge in the morning it will go all the way up.
Turn it off let it cool for about two minutes, start it up and you are good to go for all day.
Changed the thermastat and cylinder head temp sensor.
I also have a code number two cylinder misfire.
Can anyone help me.

Default Just Guessing:

Put a thermometer in the top of the radiator to see if the thing is really overheating. Pegging the temp guage max hot usually indicates a short somewhere in the wiring between the instrument panel and the sensor.

The misfire is probably caused by bad plug wires. Pull the wire to the offending plug and measure its end-to-end resistance. Anything over 50Kohms indicates worn out wires. (Resistance-per-foot of a typical carbon-core wire runs anywhere from 3K-12Kohms.)
