Default truck value with 4.6 vs 5.4

The used 04 f150 I just bought was incorrectly labeled as having a 5.4 motor,it has the 4.6 instead. So,is the 5.4 valued higher,or is it basically a wash.

the 5.4 should be roughly $2500 more. They are the same block but differnet heads and such.

i dont understand how they could mislabel the truck as a 5.4 seeing the badge right on the side of the truck usualy says 5.4 triton right on it also mine says 5.4 3v on the stock air intake hmmmmmm i would be right back to that dealer and demand the 5.4 for the price you got the incorrect truck 4 thats just me good luck man

How do you figure it being worth $2500 more? I saw some F150 XLT trucks jut like mine at the dealer when i bought mine and they were only $800 to $900 in difference in the same exact trucks. I picked the 4.6 for the better gas mileage.

Some people just dont know. I have talked to car salesmen that couldnt tell me what motor a certain truck had in it unless he looked at the data sheet. Its right on the badge. A co-worker of mine and me were talking the other day because we both have a F150 XLT screw's. He swore up and down that his had a V6 in it even though his badge had Triton on it. I told him that there was no Triton V6. He still didnt believe me cause he thought he was getting to good of gas mileage for a V8. He finally believed after i told him to go count his spark plug wires.

wow i would never buy anything without looking it over up and down inside and out cos salespeople are just in it to make money they tell you anything you want to hear cos once you drive off you are mainly stuck with it i would be very upset if i was driving around a 4.6 and thought it was the 5.4 but there are people that jump into the first thing they see and thats the way they get you...
