I have a 2004 5.4 with 111K that is ticking like crazy. I have done hours upon hours of research so I am familiar with the cam phasers, timing components, and spark plug gaps. The ticking is not getting better, maybe even worse. I plan to take it to get it looked at to find out exactly what is going on. I would like to get some insight from the owners of the ticking 5.4s if it is even worth fixing or should I just sell and run. Primarily the 2004 and 2005 owners since these years seemed to be the worse. I love my truck but I can not deal with this ticking/knocking and I am ready to either fix it or sell it but I don't want to throw my money away in fixing it.
