Hey I need some help here's what's going on I installed all new timing parts /new oil pump / cleaned oil pump tube and screen / good 5w-20 oil. after it sets for a few hours I start it up and it still chatters for 1 to 3 seconds like it's not holding oil pressure or losing its prime. any ideals please

Sounds like you might have a stuck open check valve in your oil filter.

1. What oil filter are you using? (cwalter may be on the right track)
2. Did you replace the tensioners with the same plastic type of tensioners?
3. Did you check crankshaft endplay while you had it apart? (thrust bearings can also go bad on these)
