Question Auto Stop/Start Stopped

Hi,

I have an '18 F-150 STX w/the 5.0L V8 and auto stop/start. For the last week or so, it has just stopped. I don't mind it because the feature itself is beyond understanding to me, but I am wondering if there is anything wrong. No matter which mode I am in, or type of traffic I am driving, its off. The truck is brand new and has 1,400 miles.

I found that having the defroster on turns of the auto stop/start. Not all the time but a majority. If it’s not working and you have the defroster on turn it off and see if the engine stops. It did for me most of the times, but I can’t figure out the protocol it uses.

if you scroll through your trip display in the cluster it should tell you why it is not working.

I'll try that. Thanks!

Have you read your manual? It has insights such as these.

Not the entire manual, no, just the reference card. Who reads manuals?

Manual will explain when it works or does not I believe max a/c among other thingswill affect operation. I recall someone posting that a light touch on the brakes will cause auto stop start to not engage

Thanks. Truck is brand new. I've had it for two months.
