92' Crown Vic Engine in 97' F-150
Hey guys my engine has blown head gaskets, I'm still debating doing a rebuild on the engine myself and have the machine work done at the local shop. Not a big deal just money...I found a 92' Crown Vic with 130,000 miles on it for dirt cheap, basically pull the motor, scrap the car=FREE Engine. Will this engine work in my truck with no major mods? The car has dual exhaust...maybe interceptor package? Can I run my stock computer?

The crown vic has a 4.6 2v. my truck has the 4.6 2v. they're both Windsor. I'm looking for an engine I can put in my truck it blew head gaskets and has 175,000 miles. I want to just drop in an engine that doesn't require a list of mods to get it running lol. I don't know if a 5.0 will bolt in but that is what I would like to run for the power. I don't know what computer I would have to get either, or if it would need my engine harness re pinned. My transmission is a 4x4 with the white plug. I just had it rebuilt. If you guys have any recommended swaps I would greatly appreciate the input. I'm mechanical and electrical savvy I'm just super busy.

I'm curious mogas92 if you did this swap. I've had 3 blown head gaskets across 2 motors (all 4.6) and don't want to pay for another repair. I've recently purchased a cobra motor from a Lincoln Mark VIII and want to put it in place of the 4.6. I can also get the tranny, computer and wire harness for near nothing. Still curious though if or not the motor and transmission mounts will match up. TIA for any help you can share.
