Default Water Pump issue

Hi all just changed the water pump on my 2008 4.2 and it is leaking from the bottom seam between the pump and timing cover in my Haynes Manual they suggest using thread sealant on the bolts ,how ever the instructions that came with the pump doesn't say anything about sealant nor does the online Ford Manual, and where it is mentioned in the Haynes manual is in the section on changing the timing chain cover, I was wondering if any one could shed some light on this

Leaking from the bottom and thread sealant, to me, address/are 2 different issues. Unless just not tight enough, sounds like not enough sealant for the leak issue. Using thread sealant keeps the bolts tight, right? Can using thread sealant (lock tight) on bolts ever be a bad thing?

Maybe with this bump some one else will see and help.

I used a torque wrench and torque bolts to 22 ft/lbs so I will try more sealant and add some to the threads thank you for your response

Ok but don’t use the sealant on bolt threads.
