Did we find out what the issue was?
04 F150 5.4 3v. My truck only has 3k on it and it started running like a misfire and now has no spark. A little history: complete teardown and rebuild with new pistons valves rollers , all new sensors, plugs, coils everything. The truck ran perfect for 3k miles or so. Ford told me it was the pcm so I bought a new pcm programmed for my Vin and still the same problem.
I have removed the harness and checked all the wires for breaks shirts ect. I have checked the crank signal at the pcm and it is good according to Ford specs. New temp sensor again and power steering pressure sensor as I heard they can effect the pcm firing (not 100% sure though).
On my computer I have no codes and I have rpm signal, coolant temp, power steering pressure signal and according to my computer the crank and cam signals are in sync.
As the original poster mentioned I have injector pulse ( checked with noid light all 8 cyl's). I have 12 volts on the coils with no negative trigger coming in.
I have checked and cleaned all 4 grounds in the engine bay and the grounds inside by the fuse box and on the drivers side under the kick panel. New fuel pump and module and I am getting correct fuel pressure and signal from module.
I used the newer Dorman cam phasers when I built the engine but I would think if one failed internally the cam and crank would not be in sync.
Any suggestions on what other signal is required by the pcm to fire. There has to be a signal from somewhere that is wrong or missing to the pcm that is not letting it fire.
Could there possibly be an issue with the cluster not feeding a signal it needs? I am going nuts the last 4 months trying to pin point this truck.
Thanks in advance for you suggestions.
