Welcome to the forum.

Give us more info please. Does it do absolutely nothing? Not even a click? Or does it try to fire just can't?

Carbs and dizzy still need fuel, spark and compression to start and run.

If there are electrical issues through the chassis harness, that’s no different, either.

Like mentioned, give us something to work with here. We’re not looking at the truck up close like you are. We don’t know what’s been done to the truck to get to this point. This also isn’t likely an engine issue, so you’d get more attention in the 04-08 subforum.

Example: I had a coworker kid tell me the battery was bad on his late 90s Suburban this afternoon. Fair enough. Pull two batteries (Huh? Strange gasser had two batteries-probably a ripped out stereo system…wires all over the dash, floor shifter installed. What a mess!) and charge them. Go back, pop batteries in, turn key and the starter sounds like hell and the engine dies out immediately. Won’t run. Can’t test alternator. Allegedly, this wasn’t happening earlier. I bet. 🤪 Would have been nice to know.

“Sorry, dude, get your ride out of here so I can lock up and go home.”

ETA: A similar issue in the somewhat recent past:

This gets the most vague award so far this year.
