if your the original owner i hope you did brake rotors+pads, air filter, fuel filter and fluid flush by now. i bet ford wants more checked/replaced by 120,000 like ball joints, bushings, tie rods, struts, springs belts and hoses.

My 07 just rolled over 78,000. 6 years ago I rolled her off the lot with 13 miles on the clock and she still rides just as nice as that day. (Little rattling from the AC compressor but from what I've read, fixing that could cause more problems than it would fix).

I bought my 01 in 03 with only 15,000 miles on it. I now have a little over 350,000 miles on it. The only major thig I did to it was change the transmission and that was because my girlfriend and I took a trip to Missouri and she drove through all those mountains in overdrive. It must have strained the tranny cause when I got back home the O/D light started blinking.....low and behold the mechanic told me I need to replace it. Other than that, just your typical tuneups.....wait....oh yeah.....it is now sitting in my shed needing a timing fix. lol Gonna do that this weekend. lol It is a great truck. If the motor ever goes out, I will just buy a crate motor and put it in.

Default original 2001 F-150 4.2 owner

just hit 236k miles. only problem is intake manifold leak - need to figure if it is upper or lower - and or if it is gasket related or manifold has to be replaced. besides water pump, starter, alternator & tie rod - no major repairs.

Default 2002 F-150 XL 4x4, 4.2L

I have 215K on mine with no major repairs and no mods. It runs strong. Looks like I may need an alternator now though because last night the battery light came on. I run the Castrol GTX synthetic blend 5w20.
