Bobkyle, I see you have a 150 HP Mercury outboard. Is this engine on a bass boat or boat of similiar weight? If yes, are you satisfied with how your truck tows your boat? How much does your boat & trailer weigh? Do you tow in hilly country or in flat country?

I am interested due to the fact that I recently bought an 06 F-150, 4.2 V-6, 2wd with an overdrive equipped automatic transmission to tow my fishing boat. My boat and trailer together weigh between 700 and 800 pounds. There's some moderately sized hills where I live, but on occasion I tow my boat across the Blue Ridge Mountains on I-40 between Knoxville, Tn and Asheville, NC.

Just wanting to hear comments on boat towing with a truck equipped like mine. BYW, I read in the owners manual that when towing a trailer, the overdrive should be turned off. Is this a hard and fast rule, in your opinion?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
