Thumbs up Improvement of Mileage:3.5 eco

I have a '12 3.5 Lariat with 6.5 bed with crew cab and 3.36 (or is it a 3.31?? Something like that) rear end. I was getting 14.5, 15 mileage with a fairly heavy right foot, and driving in hill country with some mixed freeway/city driving. I went through a couple of gallons of Lucas gas treatment over 5 fill ups, and a couple of times of 2 bottles of Seafoam per tank. This seemed to improve the mileage at least 2 miles / gallon. I bought mine used at 28k miles, and I bet the former owner (a 77 year old man and his wife) idled it a lot. It seems to have quicker throttle response, and a little more power. I was skeptical, but figured it might be worth the shot because I was depressed over the lousy mileage. I'm going to change plugs now at 61K. I hope it gets even better.

with direct injection i doubt that the additives are doing much, they will not wash of the back of the valves because the fuel wont touch them, it is more likely that your just getting used to the power that's improving your millage.
I think there is a TSB advising not to use any treatments on these trucks because of the turbos.

What you say is interesting, and I know people that don't think additives do any good, but I doubt I was "just used to the power". I think I am driving the same way I always have. I saw a marked increase in mileage, and that was the only thing that was different (that I can think of). I guess I am not educated enough with engines to really argue intelligently, and so all I can do is point to the results. I am willing to listen, though. I have had really good results on other cars, most notably a gasser VW quantum, that would improve 3 to 5 miles with a good injector cleaner. So it makes me think this application worked. Maybe I am just being foolish in some way I am unaware of something.
